DA stands for Data Aggregation and DC stands for Data Collection.
An Elexon accredited Half Hourly Data Collector & Data Aggregator (“HH DA/DC”) retrieves, validates and processes metering data from Half Hourly Meters and sends it to the supplier for settlement and billing purposes in line with industry requirements.
Every Half Hourly supplied customer must have a HH DA/DC, whether this is left to the supplier to appoint their own default agent or the customer takes ownership and elects their own provider.
The customer will either pay for this service in the standing charges/separate line of the supply bill or contract directly with an agent, in which case the charges in the bill will be removed.
Every Half Hourly supplied customer must have a HH DA/DC whether this is left to the supplier to appoint their own default agent or the customer take ownership and elect their own provider.
By leaving the supplier to appoint their own default HH DA/DC agent, the customer has no say in who their provider is, nor are there any additional benefits included within the vanilla supplier service.
Appointing your own DA/DC can provide easy access to Half Hourly data – A requirement to circumvent the time-consuming process of requesting and obtaining data from suppliers or other HH DA/DC agents.
By having access to various reports, data files, and graphs in relation to customers’ consumption, brokers can support consumers with reliable energy management solutions. Metering services can add additional value to the customer, as well as providing an alternative revenue stream to your business.
